Activity descriptions

Yoga
Yoga is a great way to experience your true self, while improving flexibility, strength and balance. It is the perfect break in your busy school day to take some time and center yourself.

About the instructor: Clancy has been teaching yoga for the past 12 years and loves how practicing yoga can help ease the mind, de-stress the body and shake off the cares of the day.

Her online classes will focus on gentle movements and breath work to release the tension that online learning and working from home can bring. These are all level classes, no experience required!

Join the yoga sessions via Zoom.

Boot Camp
In this 50-minute interval-based class, participants will build strength, endurance and flexibility through a variety of body weight exercises that will target all major muscle groups.

Mats required (no other equipment needed to participant).

About the instructors:

Adrienne was born and raised in Whitehorse, Yukon and has over 10 years of experience teaching group fitness classes and small group personal training in Whitehorse and across the territory. Certified through the American Council on Exercise (ACE), Adrienne is continually advancing her knowledge in health, fitness and community wellness.

Maria is originally from Vancouver Island and moved to Whitehorse in 1993. Here, she enjoys the opportunities to lead an active lifestyle that Yukon offers. Maria’s interest in health and fitness led her to become a BCRPA certified group fitness instructor in 2014 and she has been teaching a variety of fitness classes in Whitehorse ever since.  Always seeking to advance her knowledge so that she can share her passion with others, Maria holds certifications in kettlebell, TRX, Trigger point foam rolling and fitness kickboxing and is studying to become an ACE certified personal trainer.

Join the Boot Camp classes via Zoom.

Hiking club
Meet in front of the Campus Housing Office located at Ayamdigut Campus at 10am. Individual transportation must be arranged. Participants must practise the safe six steps to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.
