YRC Data Server Development

The Yukon Research Centre provides information storage, retrieval and presentation services in the form of its Data Server. Focused primarily on environmental and social data, it is an on-going development project, which is intended to provide researchers with the data storage and management tools they need to work with and share their data.

Achievements and Developments
  • YRC continues to host the Yukon Research Metadata Catalogue, a portal dedicated to detailed information about weather data collection points across the Yukon.
  • YRC has published White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&YR) Weather Data Sets, 1902-1957, showing newly recovered climate data culled from the log books of WP&YR river and railway stations over a period of 55 years
  • Yukonresearch.yukoncollege.yk.ca is now fully mirrored between two server systems, providing more secure data storage and retrieval

Researchers wishing to avail themselves of this service, or other research assistance services, should contact yrcdata@yukonu.ca, or call Clint Sawicki, Director, Research Services at 1.867.668.8772.

YRC gratefully acknowledges the assistance of CANARIE, Canada's advanced research and innovation network, for it on-going support of this.
