This project looked at building a machine that could produce biochar, space heating and some electricity. Such a machine would allow small farm owners to enhance their soil quality with biochar, while also gaining heat and electrical energy to use on the farm or sell.
However, in research trials the machine only produced biochar and heat, no electricity.
It is possible that the machine could still be used at mine sites to convert clearing piles into biochar for mine reclamation purposes.
