Online Data Atlas

Technology Innovation assisted the Software Development Centre - now Make IT - of Whitehorse in developing a prototype atlas for the Resources and Sustainable Development in the Arctic (ReSDA) program.

The atlas is an affordable, scalable Google Map user interface with a digital library capacity.  In simple terms, this software application allows a user to enter map coordinates and pull out any data in the library for a 50-kilometre radius.

Though the interface was initially tailored for the ReSDA program, the end product could be customized by other clients for a wide range of geo-pointed data sets.

The ReSDA Atlas prototype project can be seen here. It will be updated as new data comes in.

The intellectual property arising from the ReSDA Atlas project was also used in the Arctic Adaptation Exchangesite.
