Local is Smart: A Mobile On-Demand Marketing Platform

Local is Smart, developed by mobiTec in Whitehorse, is a mobile on-demand marketing platform for small local businesses.

The Local is Smart platform allows local businesses to promote their products and services directly to their customers’ smartphones in real-time. Businesses can create a promotion, include a photo of the product or service, and immediately promote it out through the local consumer base. This method reaches more targeted eyes than traditional advertising methods. Local is Smart is part of a pilot incubator project funded by Yukon Government's Department of Economic Development and delivered by (co)space. Technology Innovation is helping mobiTec refine and improve the mobile app and web console.

In October 2017, Local is Smart will begin an active pilot. During the pilot, businesses will be given a two month free product trial and Whitehorse residents will be able to enjoy personally relevant, timely opportunities to save money while buying local.
