Are you interested in inspiring Yukon communities’ young people to discover their potential?  Reporting to the Department Head, Continuing Education,  the Coordinator is responsible for coordinating programs (including workshops, clubs, camps and events) particularly in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and Trades for youth throughout Yukon.  The Coordinator will engage with Yukon government, youth organizations and other stakeholder organizations to identify key priorities, themes and approaches for delivering year-round STEM related youth programs across all communities in the Yukon.  The Coordinator will also supervise a team of motivated staff responsible for delivering the youth programs across Yukon communities.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM and/or Education discipline, with previous experience supervising, coordinating programs and working with a wide range of youth in educational activities and/or recreational settings in Yukon/First Nation communities.  Candidates should be independent self-starters and demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills.  Previous experience coordinating community delivery of programs and courses is an asset.  A valid Yukon class 5 driver’s license and Standard First Aid/CPR C (Standard First Aid/CPR C can be obtained once employed) are required.  Candidates must also complete a vulnerable sector RCMP check upon hire.
