Yukon University’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E) Centre believes in unleashing the innovator and entrepreneur in Yukoners by promoting, developing, funding and servicing the advancement of Yukon innovations and businesses.

The Strategic Project Officer position is responsible for building and strengthening programming for I&E program participants and to develop services that support entrepreneurial growth across the territory.  This position is responsible for the coordination and administration of strategic projects within I&E, including the planning, organizing and implementation of initiatives across the department that improve the access, supports and retention of innovators and entrepreneurs in I&E programs as identified in the specific projects.   Active participation on the IncubateNorth team is part of the mandate of this position, to ensure funder obligations are met.

The I&E team is looking for an experienced individual who enjoys working with entrepreneurs and innovators in a creative yet project-management structure.  The ideal candidate will have completed a relevant post-secondary degree, combined with business experience and knowledge of local/national/international innovation trends gained by working in an innovation and/or entrepreneurial ecosystem.  Candidates will have demonstrated experience in securing and maintaining strategic partnerships, and the ability to coordinate and administer multiple projects in the entrepreneurial space.  You have exceptional organizational and project management skills, supported by strong analytical and decision-making skills.  To support the diversity of projects and funding you will be coordinating, you require strong research and report writing skills, along with an understanding of communication strategies.  Rounding off these professional skills is the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment, where we support each other through our strengths and passion for what we do.
