JUST 006 - Administrative Justice for Decision Makers (Practice & Procedure)

Practice and Procedures for Decision-Makers is intended for those who have been newly appointed to quasi-judicial boards or tribunals. The course was developed by the B.C. Council of Administrative Tribunals. Yukon context information is provided in course hand-outs and by the instructor.

This course is designed to provide participants with a better understanding of their role and responsibilities as tribunal or board member; and includes the following modules:
1. Administrative Law and the Principles of Natural Justice
2. Conducting Fair Hearings and Evaluating Evidence
3. Decision- Making and Decision-Writing
4. Ethical and Professional Responsibility for Decision-Makers

This 15-hour course is livestreamed via Zoom ad delivered in 5 sessions at 3 hours per session.

Note: This course is a pre-requisite for Administrative Justice - Advanced Decision-Writing.
