What can i expect during the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER tests?
- Next-Generation ACCUPLACER tests use a multiple choice format.
- These tests are done on a computer.
- There is no time limit for these tests; most people take two to three hours to complete a test.
- For the testing session, you must bring photo ID.
How can I prepare for the ACCUPLACER tests?
- There are many sites that offer practice material and tips for how to do well on the ACCUPLACER tests. If you like, you can "Google" 'Next-Generation ACCUPLACER practice tests'.

When will I get the results?
You will receive your results within a week (often sooner) of completing the Next-Generation ACCUPLACER tests. Results will also be forwarded to the Admissions Office and entered into your student file.
Your ACCUPLACER scores are valid for two years. You may rewrite an assessment after six months have passed.

The WritePlacer® Assessment measures your ability to write effectively.
What can I expect during the Writeplacer® assessment?
You will be given an introduction to an important issue. You will then write an essay (minimum 300 words) expressing your point of view on that issue, supporting your opinion with reasons and examples. The score will be based on your focus, organization, development and support, sentence structure and mechanical conventions.
- This assessment is done on a computer.
- There is a 90 minute time limit for this assessment.
- There is a $15 per assessment.
- For the assessment session, you must bring photo ID.

The Reading Comprehension and Sentence Skills test scores are reported on a 120-point scale. These score are listed in the column titled Total Right Score on your score report sheet. Example: If your Total Right Score is 78, that equates to 78/120.

The Yukon University mathematics assessment has two parts. The first part consists of 30 questions on basic math skills (whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percent, ratio and proportions, and word problems). The second part, also 30 questions, tests knowledge of introductory and intermediate algebra skills.
What can I expect during the mathematics assessment?
- The Yukon University mathematics assessment uses a multiple-choice format.
- There is a $15 fee.
- The time limit for this test is 60 minutes. Students must work quickly and accurately.
- A calculator and scrap paper are provided.
